Terms of Service

1. What Coopc does — and does not do

Coopc is a publishing and connection platform. We give you a place to describe a project, list the roles you are looking for, apply to roles posted by others, and record that a team has formed when both sides agree.

• Coopc is not a party to any agreement you reach with another user. Scope, ownership, credit, compensation and delivery are between you and the people you work with.
• Coopc does not guarantee that you will find collaborators, that a collaboration will succeed, or that anyone will deliver what they promised.
• Coopc does not hold, transfer, escrow or split funds, and does not act as an employer, agency, contractor, general contractor or delivery guarantor.
• Coopc does not verify the identity, skills, work history, selected projects or supporting materials that users display, unless a specific feature says otherwise.
• Coopc does not arbitrate disputes between users. If a collaboration goes wrong, you resolve it directly with the other party.

Before committing significant time, money or intellectual property, agree the important terms in writing with your collaborators, and take professional advice if the stakes justify it.

2. Eligibility and your account

• You must be at least 13 years old — and old enough to enter into a binding agreement where you live — to use Coopc.
• You can register with an email address and password, or sign in through GitHub or Google. You agree to give accurate information and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, and for keeping your password and any connected sign-in accounts secure.
• Tell us at report@coopc.one as soon as you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.
• One person, one account. Do not sell, rent or transfer your account, and do not impersonate another person, company or project.

3. Your content

• You keep ownership of everything you publish on Coopc — project descriptions, screenshots, role listings, applications, comments, profile text and links.
• You grant Coopc a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display your content, and to resize or reformat it where that is needed to show it, for the purpose of operating and promoting the service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies held in backups or already shared by other users.
• You confirm that you have the rights to publish what you post, and that it does not infringe anyone else's intellectual property, privacy or other rights.
• Anything you mark as public can be seen by anyone on the internet, including search engines. Do not publish confidential information, client data, or anything covered by a non-disclosure agreement.
• We may remove or restrict content that breaks these Terms, applicable law, or a third party's rights, and may suspend accounts that do so repeatedly.

4. Acceptable use

When using Coopc, you agree not to:

• break any applicable law, or use Coopc to plan or carry out anything illegal;
• post content that infringes copyright, trademarks, trade secrets, or privacy and publicity rights;
• impersonate another person, company or project, or misrepresent your role, skills or track record;
• present selected projects, supporting materials or external links as your own work when they are not, or use them to misrepresent what you built;
• post spam, mass-duplicated listings, undisclosed advertising, pyramid or chain schemes, or open-role listings that are really a scam, an upfront-fee offer, or unpaid work presented as a partnership;
• harass, threaten, defame or discriminate against anyone, or post sexually explicit, violent or hateful material;
• upload malware, or attempt to probe, scan, overload or breach the service, other users' accounts, or our infrastructure;
• scrape or bulk-collect data about users or projects by automated means without our written permission;
• circumvent privacy settings, access controls or rate limits, or try to reach private projects you were not given access to.

5. Collaboration between users

Applying to a role, accepting an application and joining a team are product features, not contracts drafted or reviewed by us. Coopc records that an application was made or accepted; it does not define the legal relationship between the people involved.

You are responsible for your own due diligence on the people you work with, for agreeing intellectual property and compensation terms, for any tax or employment obligations that apply to you, and for complying with the export, sanctions and other rules of your country.

6. Third-party links, supporting materials and services

• Profiles and projects can link to code repositories, product sites, app stores, social accounts and other external material. Those links are supplied by users. We do not review, verify or endorse them.
• Following an external link takes you to a site governed by someone else's terms and privacy policy. Coopc is not responsible for the content, security or availability of those sites.
• Coopc depends on third-party providers — authentication, hosting, storage and email — to run the service. Their availability is outside our control.

7. Service availability and changes

• Coopc is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
• The product is under active development. We may add, change, suspend or remove features, and may set usage limits, without prior notice.
• We aim to keep the service running, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we are not responsible for content you lose because you kept no copy of your own.

8. Limitation of liability

• To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Coopc is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, lost data or reputational harm.
• Coopc is not liable for the acts or omissions of other users, including anything that goes wrong in a collaboration formed through the platform.
• You agree to cover our reasonable costs if a third party brings a claim against us because of content you published or rules you broke.
• Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

9. Suspension and termination

• You can stop using Coopc at any time. You can schedule account deletion in Settings. A 14-day cooling-off period applies, and signing in again before the deadline cancels the request. After the deadline, deletion is irreversible. See the Privacy Policy for what is removed and what minimum collaboration history is retained.
• We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these Terms, creates legal risk, or harms other users or the service.
• Provisions that by their nature should survive — the licence covering copies already shared, the limitation of liability, and these general provisions — continue to apply after termination.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the product and its legal requirements change. The current version and its effective date are always published on this page. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will make a reasonable effort to notify you in the product or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Coopc after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Reporting abuse

If a project, profile, role or message on Coopc breaks these Terms — fraud, impersonation, harassment, infringement, or a scam open-role listing — report it to report@coopc.one. Include the page link, what you believe is wrong, and any evidence. We review reports and may remove content or suspend accounts.
